Thankful Tuesdays.

23 while 23.

Today I'm linking up with Erin from Living in Yellow and posting a list of 23 things that I would like to have happen while I am still 23. Considering I don't turn 24 until the end of May next year, that leaves 10 whole months for the items on this list to be checked off.. so fingers crossed!

1. Finish Uni with a GPA of 5 or higher (I probably won't graduate until the month after my next birthday, but I should still have all of my subjects completed by then).

2. Get engaged to the man of my dreams (Remember.. this is a list of things I would like to have happen, not things that necessarily will happen).

3. Go on some sort of vacation, even if it's just for one night.

4. Reach 1000 GFC followers! :D

5. Get back down to my goal weight of 51kg (Virtually impossible if I continue to sit on my arse all day).

6. Read 'Fifty shades of grey' (just to see what all the hype is about).

7. Go to Dreamworld, or at least purchase passes for Dreamworld.

8. Invite friends over for dinner and a game of Pictionary. :)

9. Do another 7 day cleanse.

10. Fill up the rest of my recipe folders.

11. Start creating my own digital artwork for our apartment and to share on the blog.

12. Save $1000 in case we need to move again.

13. Get all dressed up and have someone take some professional looking photos of me for the blog.

14. Spend a week without the internet (even if I end up spending that whole week planning blog posts in microsoft word).

15. Clean up my friends list on facebook.

16. Not consume any alcohol unless it's part of a recipe (jelly shots don't count).

17. Complete some more DIY projects.

18. Get myself into a morning routine of showering, eating breakfast and having my hair and make up done before 8am (this will make things easier when I start working as a teacher).

19. Go to a flea market.

20. Catch up with old friends that I haven't seen for ages (Hayley, Kim, Beck, Jamie and Rikki come to mind).

21. Get Mum to teach me how to crochet or use a sewing machine.

22. Expand my blog design business.

23. Create a 24 while 24 list.

A Month of Movie Reviews.

As I was standing around outside Uni yesterday waiting for their annoying fire evacuation drill to end, my classmates and I started chatting about some of the movies that we had seen at the cinemas recently. Being the student on a budget that I am, you can imagine my surprise when I realised that I had seen four of the major movies that have been released in the last month.. thank goodness for $7.50 student tickets!

Anywho, I decided that since I was fortunate enough to be able to watch so many movies recently I would provide a brief review of, and give a rating out of 10 for each of the four movies that I have seen. :)

The first movie I saw this month was 'Men in Black 3'.

I barely remember the first two Men in Black movies, but I do remember that they were better than this. Ben had been hyping me up about seeing it for months beforehand, and when I finally saw it I was completely let down. It wasn't the worst movie ever though, and it was reasonably easy to follow, it just wasn't as good as I was expecting.

Overall I rate this movie 5/10.

The second movie I watched was 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

Well.. I must admit that the only reason I watched this movie was because Magic Mike wasn't out at the time, but I am SO glad that I did. You see, I really didn't like the other versions of the spiderman movies (the ones with Tobey Maguire) as I seemed to spend most of my time tuned out when watching them because I couldn't understand what was going on. That wasn't the case with this movie at all and I was completely engaged the entire time. Not only was the cast a million times better, but the storyline was as well. I won't go into too much detail as I highly recommend that everyone go and check this movie out for themselves, however I will tell you that this movie definitely wont leave you feeling bored or disappointed.

Overall I rate this movie 8.5/10.

The third movie I saw this month was 'Ted'.

Okay, I'll admit.. I only watched this movie because I knew that Mila Kunis would be in it, but who wouldn't right? :P I pretty much saw this movie out of pure boredom and a need to get out of our apartment. I didn't have high hopes for this movie, which I was glad about, because the movie was not as funny as everyone had been making it out to be. Perhaps I don't have the same sense of humour as most people, but seriously, I've laughed more watching one half an hour episode of family guy! Mila Kunis sure was hotter playing 'Lori Collins' than she is at playing Meg though. :P

Overall I rate this movie 6/10
(I would have given it 4 out of 10 if it wasn't for Mila Kunis).

Finally, the fourth movie I saw this month was 'The Dark Knight Rises'.

Let me just start by saying that I am not your typical batman fan. I may wear a pair of batman underwear to bed, but that's about as far as my love for this superhero goes.. until I saw this movie. I never watched 'Batman Begins', I only saw 'The Dark Knight' because I knew that Heath Ledger was in it (Oh man, how I miss poor Heathy!), and I only agreed to see this movie because it was all that Ben could talk about for the last six months.. and it's only now that I can see what all the fuss was about. This movie was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! There really isn't much more that I can say..

Overall I rate this movie 10/10.

My life lately.

I got a new style cut and colour from the bestie. :)

She also gave me way too many hair products for my belated birthday present. :P

I went through my 11 year collection of movie ticket stubs and found this one
from the very first day that Ben and I met in person. <3

I started back at Uni for my second last semester. This semester I'm taking three
on-campus courses which are 'Multiliteracies', 'Science' and 'Autism'. The above
photo was taking during a Science class investigation on Velocity, lol.

I used the $100 Uni bookshop voucher that my lovely friend Anita gave me
to purchase $50 worth of the above stationery and a textbook on Autism.
My goodness stationery is expensive!

My Mum gave me these random gifts for the apartment.
Got to love how thoughtful she is! :P

1. What is the best trip you've ever been on?

My Tafe Graduation weekend away in Melbourne with my Tafe BFF Kim. :)

2. What is your best idea for a girls weekend trip?

Well Melbourne was pretty good.. shopping, fancy hotels, stuffing our faces full of delicious foods. It's certainly not the kind of place where you'd get too hung up over missing your significant other for a couple of days. :P

3. What is your best idea for a couples trip?

Going somewhere warm, tropical or foreign. If you're going to get lost in an unfamiliar city, you might as well get lost with your partner so they can keep you safe. :)

4. What is the best vacation on the cheap?

Melbourne, but then what would I know?

5. What is the place you most want to visit?
America. I'm not going to lie.

6. What are your vacation necessities?

My prettiest outfits, money and a camera.

The Pros and Cons of dating a Med Student.

This morning I was lying in bed after a long night of restless sleep, watching as my sexy man got ready for another 8-5 day at Uni. Once he had finished fumbling around (showering, making breakfast, putting on the laundry) we exchanged our usual flirtatiously witty comments before he put some fresh-out-of-the-dryer warm socks on my ice cold feet, commented on my infected ear lobe and kissed me goodbye. After the front door to our apartment shut, I spent a few extra moments lying in bed, smiling contently at how perfect our relationship is.. then of course the overly dominant logical side of my brain kicked in to remind me that no relationship is perfect, and in turn, inspired me to write this post.. enjoy!

Pro: They’re always busy – Therefore leaving you with plenty of alone time to sit around in your tracky dacks, stuffing your face with chocolate, and only leaving the computer when you need to pee (please tell me I’m not the only one who does this when left at home alone).

Con: They’re always busy – Sometimes you just need a whole day/night of snuggling on the couch with your partner, but never ending homework makes other plans for your med student.

Pro: You can always use the “sorry, we can’t make it.. the med student has homework/assignments/exams to study for” excuse as a way to get out of attending unfavoured events.

Con: You genuinely have to use the “sorry, we can’t make it.. the med student has homework/assignments/exams to study for” excuse for the important events as well (there’s nothing worse than having to give someone you care about the same tired excuse over and over again).

Pro: When you’re feeling sick, they can often save you a trip to the doctors by letting you know that you in fact have a cold, not tonsillitis, and that you just need some rest/tissues/cold and flu tablets.

Con: When you’re feeling sick, and they don’t  know what is wrong with you, they tend to get very annoyed and say things like “do I look like a qualified doctor to you?”.

Pro: Your entire family will love your med student no matter what.

Con: Your entire family will love your med student no matter what.

Pro: You will learn lots of interesting stuff about your existing health problems, and the likelihood of you developing any future health problems.

Con: You may become, or find that people will just assume that you have become, a hypochondriac (but I will talk more about this another day).

Pro: Their hard work and determination will inspire you to be the very best person that you can be.
