Brisbane Dachshunds Annual Christmas Party.

Today Mum and I dragged B and the furbabies along to our very first Brisbane Dachshunds Annual Christmas Party.  The party was originally scheduled for yesterday afternoon but due to the non stop rain it had to be changed to today.  Fortunately it ended up being a lovely clear, sunny day that wasn't too hot at all.. perfect weather for the puppies to run around without getting muddy paw prints all over their owners. ;)

Not only did the Brisbane Dachshunds group arrange for a secret sausage santa swap (Phoebe and Joey adore their presents, thank you!) but they also held an awesome raffle and sold homemade food, doggy treats, calenders etc. to raise money for Dachshund Rescue Australia.  By the end of the Christmas party I believe they raised $1485 in total, which is pretty darn awesome considering it was only a 2 hour meet up.

It was such an enjoyable afternoon and it felt really good to be able to come together with like minded crazy Dachshund owners/lovers and raise money to help take care of all the poor little doxie's out there who are sadly often abandoned by their undeserving humans over the holiday season.

It is my hope that in the new year B and I will finally be settled in a bigger, pet friendly property so that we can bring home our very own rescue dachshund to give a permanent home to. :)

  1. That is the cutest thing ever! Dachshunds are probably one of my favourite dogs, they are so adorable :)

    1. Hehe! Mine too. :D I love most small dogs, but there's just something about their regal faces, long bodies and stumpy legs that gets me every time. :P xx
