Meet Lucas James!

On the 9th of January, 2014 at 10.40am, my (second) baby brother Lucas James was welcomed into the world. Weighing in at just 2.3kg (5 pounds 4 ounces) and measuring 50cm long, he was slightly smaller than the Doctor's had expected, but still perfectly healthy in every way.

I was asked if I'd like to stay in the delivery room when it came time for Lucas to be delivered, and although my initial reaction was to say no, I quickly warmed up to the idea, and boy am I glad that I stayed. :)

Watching my baby brother being born was the most precious and emotional moment of my life.  I had no idea what to expect or how I was going to react, but I was pleasantly surprised that despite Judy's screaming and quite obvious visible pain, the whole experience made me want to give birth naturally even more than I had wanted to beforehand.

If I wasn't clucky beforehand, I am certainly clucky now. ;)

Seriously, how can you not be clucky when a baby wraps their entire hand around your finger like this? :P

  1. He's very sweet isn't he! I don't blame mom for photo 2! Ha ha! Xxx

  2. Congrats, he is so cute. My cousin just had a baby so I know the feeling of holding a newborn.

  3. How precious! Congrats big sis! :)

  4. He is just so gorgeous Felicity! And so tiny! That is wonderful that you were able to see Lucas coming into the world, now you will be a little more prepared for when it is your turn! I can't wait to see more of your big proud sister posts, you are such a sweet heart!

    1. I'll say, haha! I actually can't wait to have a baby of my own now. Judy gave birth without an epidural, so I'm determined to do the same. :P

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and comment! I really appreciate it. :)
