You can't live a positive life with a negative attitude.

I don't know if you guys have ever noticed this or not, but I tend to be a bit of a downer sometimes and focus on the negatives rather than the positives. It's not like I set out to do so, and yet it happens more often than I'd care to admit. That is until now..

I recently attended a local networking breakfast hosted for small business owners, and our guest speaker for the morning was a semi-famous artist who has managed to make a decent living working for himself from his office at home. Rather than selling us the usual story about constant hard work being the key to success, he instead shared that his secret to personal and business growth was as simple as adopting a full-time positive attitude.

You're probably thinking "yeah right! positivity achieves nothing without hard work", and you're absolutely right. However, I'm learning that if you want to be successful in all aspects of your life you really can't have one without the other.

Our guest speaker was surprisingly a huge advocate for the law of attraction, and he spoke about how each and every morning he wakes up with the attitude that good things are going to happen. He told us countless stories that backed his belief that a positive attitude attracts positive circumstances - so much so that I was completely inspired to adopt this belief myself.

I now believe that every day has the potential to bring me happiness. That every day is a chance to learn, to grow, and to find peace among the uncertainty.

If I wake up believing that good things are going to happen today, then good things will happen. I just need to find the positives in the every day. :)

  1. Im trying this myself at the moment and it seems to be working. I have also got a gratitude journal where I write down 3 things that I am grateful for before I go to sleep each night. So I am even going to sleep with positive thoughts.

    1. Thanks ladies! I was originally intending for it to be motivational for others (more for myself) but once I read the whole post through I just knew I had to share it. Negative thoughts are hard to escape from and I am sure I will continue to have them, but if I keep reading inspiring blog posts like this one I will be reminded to look for the positives again. :)

    1. Glad you like the post hun! and I agree - it's so much easier to be negative than it is to be positive, and that really is very sad and something I think we all need to be actively working on. :)

      Thanks for stopping by! xx

  4. I absolutely agree with his motto 100%. I'm generally a very positive person, and that definitely has made thngs I've gone through easier, not only do you attract better and happier things with a good attitude, but say today you have no work coming in, with a positive mind and soul you'll be more inspired with a happy mind to go out and get work. :-) xoxo

  5. So inspiring to read ! I believe in the law of attraction & i can only speak positively about it. Since adopting a mantra & outlook on life just like the speaker you mentioned my life has changed dramatically for the better ! If you're looking for a good place to start, read 'the secret' :) wishing you nothing but the best xx

  6. Yes so true! It is amazing how much our attitude impacts on our life. The biggest changes I've experienced in life have happened when the only thing I changed was my perspective, by simply ccepting the things I can't change and focusing on the positives in a situation instead of the things I wish were different. Sounds like the breakfast you attended could be a life changer :-)

    1. I have a feeling big things are about to happen for me as well, and that they'll happen because I've accepted my situation. Fingers crossed! :)
