Snap Happy Sunday // Reunited with Lucas!

I promise he's normally smiling around me!

As you guys know, I recently got back from a short weeks holiday in Brisbane/Toowoomba which I spent visiting mine and B's family and friends. Three nights of this holiday were spent in Toowoomba visiting my Dad, step family, and baby brother Lucas.. who is now more of a toddler than he is a baby.

Now almost 15 months old, Lucas is not only walking, but running (constantly) and spouting out random words at the drop of a hat. He is a total animal lover, food enthusiast and TV junkie like myself, and clearly takes after me in the looks department as well (just kidding, kind of! haha).

Isn't he the cutest baby brother anyone could ask for?

Life Update + Calling All Blog Designers!

There's always someone who shuts their eyes, haha!
Hey guys! Well, I'm back from my holiday.. that's if you could even call it a holiday considering how busy we were! I mean not only did we drive down and back with puppies in the car, but we also stayed with family (first with my Mum and then with my Dad and Stepmum) which meant having to pull our weight more than we would have liked. Having said that, it was great to catch up with everyone again since our big move to Townsville in January. We even managed to get a new family photo taken with our new furbaby addition, which even though it is slightly out of focus and Ellie has her eyes shut, I still love more than words. :)

Another reason I am grateful for this holiday is because it gave me some time to think about my life, and my business in particular. I came to the realisation that as much as I want to be able to grow my business by learning to design for wordpress, I also want time to enjoy my life and to appreciate the here and now. I'm not saying I don't want to design for wordpress eventually, but for the next 6 months at least I just don't see this being on the cards. This is where you guys come in...

If any of you are/know of a blog designer who specialises in custom wordpress designs, please send me an email to: felicity@pursuitoffelicitydesigns.com so that we can discuss the possibility for business collaboration. I have been getting a huge amount of emails requesting custom wordpress designs of late, and rather than turn these potential clients away or referring them to a designer that I don't even know, I'd love to be able to refer them someone who I know is just as passionate about custom blog designing as I am.

If you think this is a good idea then please share this blog post! Thank you. :D

Snap Happy Sunday // Dachshund Family Reunion.

As you guys are reading this post, B and I are on holidays with the furbabies back in Brisbane/Toowoomba to visit our family and friends. Rather than leaving the blog untouched for another week though (sorry about that, been busy!) I thought I would share these photos that we took of Nala and one of her litter sisters, Evie, when her breeders came around for dinner at our place the other night. :)

As soon as Evie walked through the door, Nala was all over her like a rash. The two girls clearly remembered each other, and it was so adorable watching them both play. Nala was also all over her breeders, thumping her little tail against the table as they spoke to her. Such a heartwarming little moment in time. :D

Confession: I used to be a compulsive liar.

Me at age 10, looking like a right creep.

Okay, so I don't know that I'd have been diagnosed as a compulsive liar by a doctor, but I sure as hell lied a lot when I was a child/early teenager.

From what I can remember, it all started at around age 10 when I was taking a Judo class. There was a boy there who had a sister called Bianca that used to sit on the sidelines. For some reason I really liked her name, and it made me wish that I had a friend called Bianca. So I made one up. I told all my friends at school that I had made this new friend called Bianca at Judo. I made up this whole persona for Bianca, and I even wrote fake letters to myself addressed from Bianca. The funny thing is that I had plenty of real friends at school, so I had absolutely no need to make up an imaginary friend. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I finally told my real life friend Bianca about my made up friend as a child. She thought it was sweet, but I still find it weird.

The next thing I remember lying about was having my first boyfriend at the end of grade 7/beginning of grade 8. This was around the same time that my parents were divorcing, so I think I thought it would be something cool to tell the girls at my new high school to help me make friends. Obviously I didn't need a made up boyfriend to help me make friends, but I still continued with my lie for a good year at least. Eventually I admitted to a few of my new best friends at a sleepover that my boyfriend of the past year had been made up (he was actually based on a real person who I had a crush on, but who had zero interest in me romantically). Most of my friends thought it was hilarious, but one of them (my main best friend) was very disappointed in me. I think making up a boyfriend is quite normal in the early teenage years, but I still felt like a creep. I even wrote about him in my diary as though I truly believed we were together. I mean seriously?

A few other random things I lied about was that my Dad was American, my Mum was an identical twin (to be fair, I did actually believe this when I was a child because her and her sister looked so similar), and that I owned a teacup pig named Moo (I'd been watching the movie 'Uptown Girls' a little too much I think). I'm sure there were a bunch more lies I told, but those are the main ones I remember.

Thankfully I stopped these ridiculous stories by the time I'd turned 14. Still, I'd like to think that even by the age of 10 I'd have enough sense not to make up silly little stories.

So tell me, was I the only one who used to make up lies about themselves? Surely I couldn't have been the only one haha! What were some of the doozies you told?

Born Pretty Store Review.

Hey guys! I hope you're all having a great start to the week. Today I am here to share with you all a few little items that I was recently sent for review from Born Pretty Store. Born Pretty Store is an awesome little online shop that sells a wide variety things from beauty items, phone cases, clothing and dog toys. From what I saw from their website when selecting my items for review, their items are all very reasonably priced, and appear to be of good quality.

The items I was sent to review for you guys were two phone cases for the Samsung Galaxy S4, a portable dog water bottle/bowl, and a puppy rope chew toy in the shape of a duck. :)

Probably my favourite item that I was sent was the patterned clip on phone case pictured above left. It's a very vibrant, matte finish case, and it's also got a slightly raised texture which I actually found helps to keep the phone from slipping out of my hand.

The owl phone case pictured above right is one of those flip cases that protects the screen of your phone when it's in your handbag, etc. The colours are equally as vibrant on this one, and the case seems to be of very good quality. I personally prefer the clip on style of phone case, so I'm going to be giving this owl phone case to my Mum which I know she will love!

My second favourite item that I was sent to review was the duck shaped rope chew toy. It's absolutely adorable, and it doesn't contain a squeaker, making it perfectly safe for my puppies and great for our ears (haha!). As you can see from the photos below, Ellie absolutely loves her new duck! :)

The last item I was sent for review was this hot pink portable dog water bottle that converts to a dog bowl. I've been looking for one of these for ages, so I was delighted to see that the Born Pretty Store was stocking them. Given how hot it is in Townsville this new water bottle will definitely come in handy. It will also be great for us to use on our upcoming road trip back to Brisbane in a couple of weeks time.

All in all I was very happy with the items that I was sent for review.

Snap Happy Sunday // Farewell Summer.

Me and my furbabies, Ellie and Nala.

Happy Sunday guys! I hope you're all enjoying a stress free and relaxing weekend. Today is the first day of Autumn here in Australia, and as you can see from the photos in this post I am still dressing for Spring/Summer. I'm really looking forward to Winter here in Townsville because apparently it gets cold enough to wear a light jacket (ha!).

Although the weather has stayed the same, one thing that has changed recently is my prescription glasses. I was kindly sent another free pair from Firmoo (I know, how lucky am I?) to try out, and I have to say that I am so much happier with these new frames compared to my last. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the last pair at all, I just feel that this new pair suits my face shape more and is slightly more feminine (whilst still being a little nerdy, which I love!). This pair is much slimmer and incredibly light weight as well. It's such a shame this pair is now being discontinued.

If you'd like to pick up a pair for yourself, all new customers can get a 50% off coupon here. :)

In other news, Nala and Ellie have been getting along like a house on fire. I can't leave them outside alone for five seconds now without them terrorising the garden and/or each other. The bond between them already is just incredible and very heartwarming. :)

*Disclaimer: I was not paid to write this post, however I was kindly gifted the frames. All opinions are my own.
