Google yourself.
I did this the other day for the first time in years, and oh my gosh, suddenly google knew everything about me. Needless to say I spent several hours deleting my old myspace, windows live, bebo type accounts which for obvious reasons I had forgotten about. It was both hilarious and shameful to look back on those horrid old photos, lame ass quizzes I used to take, and the fact that I used to tYp Lyk DiS.. Ugh!

Give yourself a manicure/pedicure.
Go on, you know you want to. Just think of all the money you will be saving by avoiding the nail salon. :)

Make up your own recipe.
Trust me, it's not as hard as it sounds. Have you ever tried a recipe and thought "hmm.. I wonder how this would taste if I took out this ingredient and added something else instead"? Well now's the time to try!

Draw up the house plan for your dream home.
Maybe this is just me but I have found that relying solely on your imagination to draw something like this up can give you an incredible sense of direction and purpose. It's also a great way to get your creative juices flowing in general.

Create a vision board.
Go to your local cheap store and pick up a pinboard and a pack of pretty coloured thumb tacks (I like the metallic ones). Print off and plaster the pinboard with a bunch of your favourite pinterest quotes, want list items etc. Hang the pinboard up in an area of your home or office where you will be able to look at it all the time. :)

Meet: Frances from 'Frances Cassandra'.

Monday, 23 January 2012

Tell us about yourself.
My name is Frances and I am 19 years old and I live in the Northwest of the UK. I am in my second year of university studying Media. I am an aspiring musician just getting started on my own YouTube Channel, and of course a hopeful beauty and fashion blogger. I love music, cool accents and tarsiers :) I am also really bad at talking about myself so I hope my answers to the following questions give you more of an insight to me and my blog haha.

What inspired you to start your blog/shop?
It has been about a year since I started watching beauty and fashion videos on YouTube. I have always wanted to start my own beauty/fashion channel but sitting in front of a camera and talking to the lens is just the most awkward thing ever to me. That's when I discovered blogs. People doing the exact same thing as those YouTubers but in writing. Needless to say it wasn't long before I signed up and started my own blog, and here I am now :) I just enjoy learning about new fashion trends and beauty products and want to share my knowledge with everybody else in the blogging community. :)

What is your favourite thing about blogging?
Definitely knowing that people find my posts helpful and interesting to read. If I didn't get comments from my readers, I don't think I would still be doing this, all the nice words that people leave for me make me smile and motivate me to carry on writing. I have met so many nice people on here and I hope to attend a blogger meet up some time this year so that I can meet everybody in person.

What can we expect to see on your blog?
I class my blog as a "beauty, fashion and lifestyle" blog. I do product reviews, hauls, Outfit of the Day posts, Face of the Day posts, Nail of the Day posts, wish lists, various lifestyle related posts and the occasional tag. I'd say my blog is pretty versatile in the sense that I write a wide variety of posts, it just depends what inspires me at the time. :) I am always open to requests from my readers. I also have a shop where I sell hand made feather earrings which me and my dad make, so please do check that out if you stop by my blog! I hope you will all take a look at my blog and of course follow if you like what you see :)

Phoebe: Oh, hello there fellow sausage dog!
Reality: Phoebe only just notices the sausage dog wall decal that I gave Mum for Christmas and put up three weeks ago.

Phoebe: Hmm.. I don't think he heard me. Maybe I should sniff his butt to let him know I want to play.

Phoebe: There's something wrong with this sausage dog, he doesn't seem to move very much!

Phoebe: Listen buddy, if you're not going to share that toy bone with me I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Reality: After running up and down along the wall and barking hysterically at the wall decal for at least 10 minutes, Phoebe finally gives up and decides to leave the wall decal to it.

Living with Narcolepsy.

Monday, 16 January 2012

Usually I don't bother to talk about my condition because from what I can gather, people just don't understand. However, having recently put my blog out there in the googlesphere, I figured I'd make the effort to reach out and see if there are any other diagnosed Narcoleptics or Idiopathic Hypersomnolence sufferers out there who know what I am going through.

I was diagnosed with/started medication for IH come Narcolepsy almost 5 years ago (around the time of my 18th birthday) and am presently weaning myself off the meds with permission from my doctor. My doctor is curious to see whether my condition has improved and if the meds are the underlying cause for numerous different problems that I've been having.

These problems/possible side effects include: pins and needles in my fingers and toes at random times throughout the day, random numbness in all different parts of my body (I can't sit still for more than 30 seconds at a time), brittle fingernails that aren't caused by a calcium deficiency, ingrown fingernails and a tendency to pick and chew at the skin around my fingernails, extremely weak/tired arms and legs throughout the day from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep, headaches, migraines, deterioration of vision, gritty and tired dry eyes, feeling "hungover" upon wakening, nausea and dizziness throughout the day, lock jaw, and what bothers me the most, impaired thought processes and speech. :(

It would be lovely to chat with someone who has or is still experiencing some of these side effects, or who has previously tried/succeeded in weaning themselves off their Narcolepsy medication in the past.

What ended up happening? What can I expect?
